Counselling services
Initial consultation
I offer a free initial phone consultation so we can discuss what you are looking for and whether my approach is a good fit. There is no obligation to proceed following this call.
Therapeutic contract
Before therapy begins, I will provide a therapeutic contract outlining the terms of our work together, including confidentiality, session structure, fees, and cancellation arrangements. That contract, once agreed, forms the basis of our therapeutic relationship and takes precedence over these general website terms in relation to the provision of counselling services.
Confidentiality
Everything discussed in therapy is treated as confidential. There are limited exceptions to this, which are explained in the therapeutic contract. These include situations where there is a serious risk of harm to you or another person, or where I am required to disclose information by law.
Sessions
Sessions are currently offered online via Zoom. It is your responsibility to ensure you have a private, quiet space and a stable internet connection for your sessions.
Cancellations
The cancellation policy, including any applicable fees, is set out in the therapeutic contract provided before therapy begins.
Fees
Fees for counselling sessions will be agreed before therapy begins and are outlined in the therapeutic contract. Payment terms and methods will be confirmed at that time.
Professional standards
I am a registered member of the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP), the National Counselling and Psychotherapy Society (NCPS), and Addiction Professionals. I work in accordance with their ethical frameworks and undertake regular clinical supervision and continuing professional development.
Limitation of liability
Therapy is a collaborative process and outcomes cannot be guaranteed. I will always work with care, skill, and in accordance with my professional training and ethical obligations, but I cannot be held liable for decisions you make or actions you take as a result of our work together. The content on this website is provided for general information purposes only.
